As part of our ongoing commitment to maintain the security, performance, and compatibility of HRPro, we would like to inform all users that HRPro will no longer support Windows Server 2012 or Windows Server 2012 R2 beginning at HRPro 22.12.
Microsoft officially ended extended support for Windows Server 2012 and 2012 R2 on October 10, 2023. Without security updates or technical support from Microsoft, continuing to operate HRPro on these environments poses significant security and reliability risks. In addition, our latest application updates, components, and dependencies now require newer Windows Server technologies that are not compatible with the 2012 architecture.
To ensure continued stability, compliance, and optimal performance, HRPro will only support Windows Server 2016, 2019, 2022, and later versions going forward.
We strongly recommend upgrading to a supported Windows Server version as soon as possible. Our technical team will be glad to provide guidance or assistance during your migration planning.

Please note that the following HRPro functions may not operate correctly on Windows Server 2012:
SMTP connections to Google, Microsoft, and many cloud service providers
Native support for TLS 1.3 is unavailable
All API functions may experience limitations
.NET Framework 4.8 updates may be unsupported
Compatibility issues with modern browsers, IIS updates, and cloud authentication (e.g., Office 365 relay) are expected
Sign-in functionality with Google and Microsoft may fail
Installation of SQL Server 2022 and 2025 is not supported
Secure connection features for SQL Server cannot be installed
Furthermore, without ongoing security updates, the system remains vulnerable to unpatched exploits, cyberattacks, malware infections, and data breaches. Windows Server 2012's end of support means critical vulnerabilities remain unaddressed, increasing exposure to threats. Additionally, organizations using this unsupported platform risk non-compliance with regulatory standards such as GDPR, HIPAA, and PCI DSS, which often mandate supported software environments. These compliance issues may result in fines, legal liabilities, and damage to reputation. Threat actors actively target end-of-life systems like Windows Server 2012, exploiting numerous known security flaws in essential services, including IIS, RDP, and SMB.
