What is Non-Continuous Contract Employee in HRPro
There is a check box option Non-Continuous Contract Employee in Employee Master, HR Info tab
The Employment Ordinance distinguishes between employees, categorizing them as:
Employees employed under an employment contract; and
Employees employed under a continuous employment contract. A continuous contract of employment is an employment contract under which an employee works continuously for the same employer for 4 weeks or more, with at least 18 hours in each week. (a.k.a. 418 contract)
Employees employed under an employment contract are entitled to basic protections under the Ordinance including
Payment of wages,
Restrictions on wage deductions and
The granting of statutory holidays, etc.
Employees employed under a continuous employment contract, whether temporary or part-time, are entitled to all the statutory benefits under the Employment Ordinance including
Rest days
Paid annual leave
Holiday Pay after 3 months of service
Sickness allowance
Severance payment and long service payment etc.
In HRPro, when the option Non-Continuous Contract Employee is checked,
the regarded days and regarded wages for the past 12 months average wage will not be calculated and become zero
No Holiday Pay, Annual Leave Pay, Sickness Allowance, Injury Leave Allowance, Maternity Leave Pay, Long Service Payment/Severance Payment
Annual Leave, Sick Leave, Maternity Leave and Paternity Leave are not available to apply and take
