418 Checking
According to Schedule 1 of the Employment Ordinance, an employee who has been employed continuously by the same employer for 4 weeks or more, with at least 18 hours worked in each week (a.k.a 418), is regarded as being employed under a Continuous Contract of Employment. Hence, a part-time employee who fulfils the above requirements is also employed under a continuous contract.
HRPro provides a convenient way to check whether the employee fulfils 418 or not.
There is a button 418 Checking In Employee Master, HR Info tab.
When the 418 Checking button is clicked, if the employee fulfilled 418, the following message box will be displayed.
which list out the latest 4 continuous weeks with at least 18 hours worked in each week.
If the employee did not fulfil 418, the following message box will be displayed.
which list out the latest 4 weeks with the working hour information.
If the checkbox option Use Attendance Records for 418 Checking in Employee Master, HR Info is checked, 418 Checking will count the worked hours in Attendance Records. Otherwise, 418 checkings will base on the work hours settings defined in Global Working Hours or Roster table less the leave taken.
