Users are free to design the format of Employee Number based on the Number Mask defined in the Auto Number Section.
You can define the default set of Employee Numbers from the Master Setup, Employee Master panel.
Auto Employee No.
Check the Auto Employee No. checkbox if the user prefers the Employee Number generated by the system. In this case, the word Auto will be displayed on the Employee No. when you create a new Employee.
Number Mask
You can define a Prefix (usually a fixed Alphabet or a combination of the transaction’s year/month) and Suffix (usually a running number) on the Number Mask. (e.g. EE-#####, yy-####)
Number Mask supports the following merge code:
yy – short year
yyyy – long year
mm – month
mmm – English month (i.e. JAN, FEB, MAR)
dd – day
# - number
The year, month, and day refer to the creation date.
Next Number
The Next Number field contains the next number that you wish HRPro to generate. If the Next Number is greater than ZERO, the next number will not reset on the next month/year.
If the Next Number is 0 then HRPro will generate the number based on the (maximum number + 1) of the given transaction year/month. The next number will reset to 1 next month/year (if any).
