What is the meaning of "Subordinate" in Employee Portal?

In Employee Portal (except Subordinate Appraisal Result), your subordinates are 

1. The employees that one of the Approver is you.

2. The employees that the Report to (Superior) (and Superior's Superiors, up to 5 levels) is you (depending on the option Allow Superior view Subordinate's Info in Employee Portal Setup, Employee Self Service tab).

3. The employees that the Department Manager is you.

For Subordinate Appraisal Result, subordinates are the employees that the Report to (Superior) (and Superior's Superiors, up to 5 levels) is you (without considered Approvers).
