Auto Annual Leave Forfeiture
When the “Enable first Auto Annual Leave Forfeiture” or “Enable second Auto Annual Leave Forfeiture” feature is activated, HRPro will check the Annual Leave Balance (Remaining) of every employee’s Last Release Year End Date every time someone logs in to HRPro or Employee Portal.
The available options for Retain Days are
Last Year's Entitlement x 2
Last Year's Entitlement ÷ 2
Last Year's Entitlement
1 to 60
If the balance less Retain Days is positive, it will create a negative adjustment as of the Last Release Year End date to make the balance zero (or the value in the Retain Days).
If the Grace Period is defined, the system will wait to check until the date reaches the "Last Release Year End Date" plus the grace period (in days). In other words, the grace period is the length of time before forfeiture occurs. The maximum value for the Grace Period is 254 days.
In general, if an employee does not use all their annual leave within the given Grace Period, they will forfeit the unused days. However, if the employee has Retain Days, they can carry over some of their unused annual leave to the next year. The number of Retain Days an employee has will determine how many days of unused annual leave they can carry over.
You can enable the first and second to forfeit the balance two times per year. e.g. leave 5 days as carry forward and forfeit the remaining after 3 months.
To define more than one policy for Auto Annual Leave Forfeiture, it is possible to define Auto Annual Leave Forfeiture in the Leave Entitlement Class for different Employee Classes.
