Annual Leave Balance
When validating the Annual Leave Balance, based on: the options are either Eligible Balance or Actual Balance. However, the setting "When validating Annual Balance, based on" in Leave Entitlement Class will override this preference.
Annual Leave Entitlement
First Year Annual Leave Entitlement round up to integer (for Calendar Year Entitlement)(Recommend Yes): It is used to determine how the annual leave entitlement for the first year is calculated. When this option is enabled, the system rounds up the calculated leave entitlement to the nearest integer. For example, if the prorated leave entitlement for the first year is calculated to be 12.75 days, it will be rounded up to 13 days. This ensures that employees receive a whole number of leave days. See Why "First Year AL Entitlement round up to integer"?
Not released Annual Leave Entitlement before the Probation End Date: When enabled, the Annual Leave Entitlement before the Probation End Date is set to zero. The entitlement accrued within the Probation Period will be released after the Probation End Date.
Not released Annual Leave Entitlement for the first 3 months of service: When enabled, the Annual Leave Entitlement for the first 3 months of service is set to zero. The entitlement accrued within the first 3 months of service will be released after this period.
Annual Leave Future Balance Consider Future Entitlement: For detailed usage, refer to 'How HRPro calculates Annual Leave Actual Balance (with Future)'."
Final Payment
Add Annual Leave Balance for Final Payment (Recommend Yes): It is used to determine whether the employee's accrued annual leave balance should be included in their final paycheck. When this option is enabled, any unused annual leave that the employee has accumulated will be monetarily compensated in their final payment. This ensures that employees are paid for any leave they have earned but not taken before their departure.
Add Additional Annual Leave Balance for Final Payment: It is used to determine whether the employee's accrued additional annual leave balance should be included in their final paycheck.
Annual Leave Days round up to an integer for Final Payment (Recommend No): When it is turned on, Annual Leave days on the Final Payment Payroll Batch are rounded up to an integer. If it is turned off, Annual Leave days on the Final Payment Payroll Batch is rounded to the Leave Day Decimal Place defined in Leave Module Setup, General Tab.

Retain Days Options:
Last Year's Entitlement x 2
Last Year's Entitlement ÷ 2
Last Year's Entitlement
1 to 60 days
If the balance* minus the Retain Days is positive, a negative adjustment will be created as of the Last Release Year End Date to make the balance zero (or to the value specified in Retain Days).
Grace Period (days): If defined, the system will wait until the Last Release Year End Date plus the grace period before checking the balance. The grace period is the amount of time before forfeiture occurs, with a maximum value of 254 days.
Generally, if an employee does not use all their annual leave within the given grace period, they will forfeit the unused days. However, if the employee has Retain Days, they can carry over some of their unused leave to the next year. The number of Retain Days determines how many days of unused annual leave can be carried over.
You can enable both the first and second forfeiture to occur twice per year (e.g., leave 5 days as carry forward and forfeit the remaining after 3 months).
To define multiple policies for Auto Annual Leave Forfeiture, you can set up Auto Annual Leave Forfeiture in the Leave Entitlement Class for different Employee Classes.
